Washington.

This               is               a               fitting               tribute               to               the               man               who               was               responsible               for               setting               the               standard               of               the               right               to               an               education               for               all               Americans.

After               slavery               was               abolished,               he               lead               by               example               and               showed               the               recently               released               slaves,               that               the               way               to               prosperity               and               achievement               lay               with               education.

He               then               set               about               making               this               a               reality.

He               is               remembered               as               one               of               the               greatest               black               leaders               to               make               a               significant               difference               to               his               people.

Washington               started               on               the               path               where               he               would               leave               an               indelible               mark               when               his               family               was               freed               from               slavery.

He               achieved               success,               first               at               Hampton               University,               then               at               the               Wayland               Seminary               before               becoming               a               leading               light               at               Tuskegee               University               in               Alabama.
His               academic               success               was               only               a               part               of               his               story.

He               made               friends               with               powerful               and               influential               leaders               of               the               country               and               became               a               voice               for               post-slavery               black               Americans               and               for               moderation               in               the               place               of               the               violence               of               the               times.
